The Daily Planet staff grows with The Righteous Gemstones star Skyler Gisondo joining Warner Bros.’ Superman: Legacy as Jimmy Olsen.
James Gunn’s DC Studios has had a bonanza lately announcing casting for his upcoming Superman film. The Hollywood Reporter just revealed that Olsen would be played by Gisondo, known for his comedic work on shows like Gemstones and The Santa Clarita Diet. Also today, Sara Sampaio was announced as Lex Luthor’s assistant Eve Teschmacher, a character originally created for Christopher Reeve’s Superman films, as reported by Deadline.
Gisondo and Sampaio are just the latest additions to the Superman: Legacy cast, which yesterday added Nicholas Hoult (The Menu) as main antagonist Lex Luthor, joining leads David Corenswet (Pearl) as Clark Kent/Superman and Rachel Brosnahan (Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as Lois Lane. The ensemble also includes a bona fide roster of comic book staples come to life including Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason/Metamorpho, and María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica/The Engineer.
